GoDaddyHostmonster
Summary:

GoDaddy is the world's most popular web hosting company. GoDaddy was founded by Bob Parsons who created the company out of his basement. In 2010, Go Daddy reached more than 45 million domain names under management. When that happened Go Daddy became the largest ICANN-accredited registrar in the world. The company is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. They are known for their risque marketing strategies featuring scantily clad women advertising their web hosting services.
Summary:

HostMonster has been in business for a long time. They have been hosting websites since 1996 and they host over 1,000,000 websites. HostMonster and Bluehost are sister companies owned and controlled by CEO Matt Heaton. They also own FastDomain which is their domain name registrar division.

Email accounts are unlimited on host monster.
Site Builder:

All plans have a drag and drop site builder available if you want to use it. They also provide about 300 templates to choose from.
Site Builder:

Hostmonster supports the weebly site builder for assistance with building websites. It can be found in the cpanel when logged in.
Server Info:

You can choose between linux or windows as your operating systems on the server. We highly suggest the linux version so you can enable SSH for secure ftp access. GoDaddy uses their own custom control panel.
Server Info:

All host monster accounts run on a linux operating system. Their control panel is the popular cpanel package. They support PHP5, PERL, Ruby on Rails and Python for programming languages.
Bandwidth:

Bandwidth is unlimited on all packages.
Bandwidth:

Bandwidth (which hostmonster calls "gigs of site transfer") is unlimited on all their web hosting packages.

The Economy Package comes with 10GB of disk space. The Deluxe package comes with 150GB. The Ultimate package has unlimited storage!
Disk Space:

Diskspace is unlimited on all hostmonster web hosting packages.

The stats package is custom to GoDaddy. AWstats is NOT available.
Stats:

AWstats and webalizer are both available to you on Hostmonster but you have to enable them in the logs section of cpanel before you use them.
Database Info:

Go Daddy windows hosting supports MySQL, MS SQL (SQL Server) and Access databases while linux only supports MySQL.
Database Info:

Hostmonster supports both MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and they are unlimited on all web hosting packages.
FTP Info:

By default, GoDaddy suggests connecting via port 21 on Filezilla. The problem with this suggestion is it is not secure. Request SSH from GoDaddy and use port 22 (SFTP).
FTP Info:

Hostmonster does support SFTP but you need to activate it in your CPanel. In CPanel, click on SSH / Shell Access -> Manage SSH Access -> SSH Access Enabled. Then use port 22 to connect.

Customer support for GoDaddy is provided by phone. We wish there was live chat functionality.

Opinion:

GoDaddy hosts millions of websites. This causes problems. FTP disconnects very often. This is extremely frustrating if you are editing your website Filezilla or WinSCP. Their control panel is custom and it's a confusing mess to navigate. CPanel is far superior but they don't use CPanel. Their marketing is really good though. Be warned. Danica Patrick and Jillian Michaels won't show up to fix your website when you are experiencing problems. This is our honest opinion. We don't get paid to promote or slam GoDaddy in comparison to any other web host. We respect Bob Parsons for turning GoDaddy into a huge success but it is very large and bloated. There are better web hosts out there for reliability and customer experience.
Opinion:

Hostmonster doesn't do much fancy but they use popular open source technology like CPanel and AWstats. They have all the features you could ever want although some of the features you have to set up by yourself in CPanel. This is a good web host for someone who has done web hosting before. The biggest advantage of Hostmonster is the price is right.
