Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 - The Internet Security version improves on the Antivirus 2015 version by providing parental control options, a two way firewall, anti-spam, and an enhanced security environment for shopping and banking transactions.

Kaspersky PURE 3.0 Total Security - PURE 3.0 improves on the Internet Security version by adding features such as file encryption, file shredding, scheduled backup, a password manager and PC optimizing. If you need to secure multiple devices you can upgrade to Kaspersky One Universal Security which does the same thing as PURE 3.0 but simply is used for managing multiple devices.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware 11 Free - Ad-Aware Free Antivirus is the most popular downloaded antivirus on the internet. It comes with a lot of solid features to compliment the standard antivirus protection such as link checking against the Ad-Aware cloud (Safe Browsing), a malware sandbox, and a game mode.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware 11 Personal Security - The Personal version includes all the previous as well as upgraded social network protection and extra security for online bank transactions.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware 11 Pro Security - The Pro version includes all the previous as well as a two way firewall, USB scanning, and anti-spam features.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware 11 Total Security - Total Security is the complete package with some sweet features such as a PC Tuneup, parental controls, online backup, data recovery and rootkit detection (rootkits are a very nasty flavor of spyware).
Strengths:

Tremendous proactive protection. Kaspersky has an outstanding record of identifying new forms of malware before they are known and recognized. Recently Kaspersky ranked #1 out of 17 different antivirus competitors at detecting unknown spyware via an independent study by AV Comparatives.
Kaspersky provides a keylogger defense mechanism called Safe Keyboard that launches when you interact with banks or payment websites to protect passwords when interacting with banks and online payments.
The System Watcher feature monitors your PC to detect dangerous behavior and allow you to undo or rollback most malicious actions.
Strengths:

With 450,000,000 downloads it is the most popular antivirus on the market.
The features on the free version are more robust than others. The Safe Browsing technology is a great feature. Ad-Aware leverages their incredible popularity to identify malicious links and update everyone to protect them from threats.
As for upgraded versions, you really need to go with the Total Security version. That is were the cooler features are at such as the PC Tuneup, Parental Control, and Online Backup.

Yes. Kaspersky offers something called Safe Run mode which is a virtual sandbox environment.

PC Optimization:

Yes. Kaspersky contains options for clearing browsing history, the cache, logs, and optimization of browser settings and Windows settings in general.

Yes. Total Security includes a PC Tuneup but also Lavasoft has a standalone PC Tuneup product called Lavasoft Registry Tuner.
Backups / Online Storage:

Yes. Kaspersky offers very nice local backup features, including backing up to a local drive, an external drive, or even FTP for online backup functionality. You can even restore to a computer where Kaspersky PURE 3.0 is not installed.

Parental Control:

Yes. There are options to control access to access to the computer itself, the internet, programs, games, and individual websites. They even have remote management of parental controls!
