Cool Features:
Malwarebytes has powerful features. Protection against ransomware and exploit protection are built in. Real-time detection actively monitors for malicious activity and web protection warns against dangerous sites. Malwarebytes is unique because it ignores antiquated viruses from years ago to keep the product nimble. This is an antivirus that focuses on the threats of today rather than years and years ago. Personally I had the DNS Locker virus on my computer and Malwarebytes was one of the few antivirus products which quarantined it.
| Cool Features:
Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is a free antivirus download which works on Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. Windows 8 has a feature called Windows Defender which is the same as Microsoft Security Essentials but you do not need to download it as it is built in. Microsoft Security Essentials is a plain solution which is better than nothing but in general is significantly outperformed by any of the commercial antivirus solutions reviewed on this website. MSE will detect some viruses but not near the success rate as other commercial solutions. We suggest Avira, Avast, AVG or ZoneAlarm free editions if you absolutely need free antivirus. |
Business / Endpoint Info:
Malwarebytes has burst onto the scene as a business antivirus force. They have done this in a relatively short amount of time all things considered. Their Endpoint Security product does not disappoint. Endpoint Security defends against ransomware, malware, zero-day exploits, PUPs, adware and more. The software blocks access to known malicious IP addresses so that end users on the network are proactively protected from downloading malware, hacking attempts, redirects to malicious websites, and malvertising. It is definitely worth noting the Breach Remediation feature. This is a crucial technology for today's threatening cyber security world where even hostile nations attempt to hack companies. Breach Remediation hunts for advanced threats and minimizes re-imaging due to infection. Perhaps the most crucial detail is the gathering of and displaying of forensic evidence for analyzing failed hack attempts or even the dreadful successful hack. Control it all from a single Management Console. | Business / Endpoint Info:

Detection:
Malwarebytes can identify YAC, IFEOHijack, DNSUnlocker, Wajam, Winsock, Amonetize, and APNToolbar to name a few. | Detection:
N / A |
Customer Support:
Malwarebytes has several ways to contact including a forum and submitting online tickets. | Customer Support:
No. MSE does not come with some kind of customer support exclusive to the product. |
